Summer vacation will be here before we know it! In preparation for summer camp and upcoming travel plans, check with your child's physician to assure they are up-to-date with their imunizations. Although not a requirement, it is recommended that children age 11-12 receive a dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis), 3 doses of HPV (Human papillomavirus), and one dose of Meningococcal vaccine.
The Eric L. Knowlton School would like to invite friends and family to this year's 6th Grade Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 12th from 9:00-10:30 AM in the Knowlton School gym. This ceremony is our culmination for the year.
The last day of school is June 13th for grades K-5 and 9-12 and it is a half-day. The last day of school is June 12th for grades 6-8 and it is a full day. The staff for grades 6-8 will be using June 13th to help with the transition of grades for 2012-13.
The 5th & 6th grade students will be administered the NWEA Testing (Northwest Evaluation Association) in Math and Reading for this week (4/30-5/4) and next week (5/7-5/11). Each test will take no more than 1 hour and 15 minutes. The 5th graders are being tested this week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The 6th graders are being tested on Thursday and Friday of this week and all of next week. Your child can tell you what days they are being tested.
In addition, the 5th grade students will also be taking the MEA (Maine Educational Assessment) Testing in Science next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Just a reminder: This Thursday, April 5th, we will be having an Early Release Day for all students in K-12. Students at the Knowlton School will be dismissed at 11:00 AM.
Please make sure your child knows where he/she is going at dismissal. As always, if your child is going somewhere different, please send a note or call the school at 207-698-1188 to notify us. Also, students are not allowed on another students bus unless it is their bus, it is a babysitting emergency or the bus driver has given his/her permission.
